Biographie
Le baryton Huw Montague Rendall naît en Angleterre. Il étudie au Royal College of Music de Londres.
En 2015, il incarne Bartley dans le Riders to the Sea de Williams au British Youth Opera de Londres, puis il prend le rôle de Fiorello (Le Barbier de Séville) aux BBC Proms l’année suivante. Membre de l’International Opera Studio de Zurich, il y incarne une série de petits rôles : le Député Flamand (Don Carlos), le Troisième ouvrier (Lady Macbeth du district de Mtsensk), puis, en 2017, le Troisième Noble du Brabant dans Lohengrin de Wagner, le Deuxième Nazaréen dans Salomé de Strauss et Yamadori dans Madame Butterfly de Puccini. Entre temps, il y prend le rôle de Ramiro dans L’Heure espagnole de Ravel. Également membre du prestigieux Young Artist Programme du Festival de Salzbourg, il y fait ses débuts dans le rôle du Deuxième ouvrier dans le Wozzeck de Berg, puis il débute en 2018 au Festival d’Aix-en-Provence où il prend le rôle d’Harlequin dans l’Ariane à Naxos de Strauss.
Huw Montague Rendall prendra le rôle de Schaunard dans La Bohème de Puccini à Zurich au mois de septembre 2018, avant de retrouver le rôle d’Harlequin (Ariane à Naxos) au Théâtre des Champs-Élysées en mars 2019 où il fera ses débuts.
